With a career spanning three decades across multiple countries, Dr Nirmala Agarwal currently heads the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sant Parmanand Hospital in Delhi, and is one of the most experienced and accomplished surgeons in her field.
Her areas of expertise range from IVF failure, high-risk pregnancies, immunology of pregnancy and recurrent spontaneous pregnancy loss, to laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, prolapse surgery, surgery for urinary incontinence and infertility treatment.
She obtained her graduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi before furthering her training in the UK, where she became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1985, and a Fellow of Royal College (FRCOG UK) in 2005.
She has trained as a laparoscopic surgeon from Glasgow (UK) and Keil in Germany, and is Vice Chairperson of the All India Coordinating Committee of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of North Zone, India. She has published a total of 221 international publications in peer-reviewed medical journals including Science & Nature.
